The Beginning
Sam started out as a project among a group of friends. Something fun to do in the free time between classes (or during). Started on November 2nd 2007 Sam later became more than that. On January 23rd 2008 we decided as a group that Sam would be bigger than that. We wanted Sam to break the world record for a rubber-band ball. The goal is still fun, but also an accomplishment. A world record might seem like a lofty goal for a group of freshmen in high school, but we decided we didn't care, we'd shoot for it anyway. We hope for Sam to grow to a several ton lump in one of our garages. But for now we pass him around every few days at school, putting on the rubber-bands we manage to scrape up.

Wow, good luck with your project! I made a rubber band ball as big as a football about a year ago, but apparently the world record is something crazy like 6ft.
Good luck to you with breaking the record, and I hope you're still at it.
